HUNTING INFORMATION:

All our hunts are conducted on private lands.  I do want to point out that if you are looking for a NO kill NO pay type of hunt, please look elsewhere.  When you hunt with us there is no other party hunting in our area at the same time.

We schedule our hunts with time between each hunt.  We do not book hunts after hunts.  We like to keep our trophy hunters to a maximum of two.  We feel more comfortable and personable when we can concentrate on one or two hunters at a time.  This allows each individual a honest chance at harvesting a nice animal.  If we do book three hunters, we like to have at least one of them on a management hunt.  Management is considered harvesting a polled ram or a dry ewe.  It is the sole discretion of your guide to select the animal to be harvested.  If a hunter takes an animal, not selected by your guide, you are responsible to pay the amount of a trophy hunt.

We welcome rifle, bow as well as muzzle loader hunters year round.  If you plan to hunt with a rifle we recommend nothing bigger than a 30-06.  With today's airline luggage restrictions making it difficult and expensive to bring extra pieces.  Another option will be to rent one of our rifles for a nominal fee.  We also offer a youth size rifle for your son or daughter accompanying you.

We definitely pride ourselves in giving each client our very best effort in harvesting an animal you will be proud of.  We understand that each hunter has different abilities and expectations, and we like to treat each individual as if we were the client.

All our prices are per day, per hunter.  Our usual hunting day starts way before sunrise and ends after sunset.  If you are staying in the immediate Kona area, we will pick you up from your hotel / condo.  If you are staying on the Kohala coast we will meet you at a designated place.

We provide transportation in the field.  Our field transportation is 4 wheel drive vehicles.  We provide snack bars, soft drinks, water, and sack lunches.  We do not provide any alcoholic beverages and do not allow consumption during the hunt.

All hunters need to have a Hawaii hunting license, which can be purchased online for $95.00 at www.ehawaiigov.org/DLNR/hunting.  Youth hunters (16 years and younger) must show proof of their home states Hunter's Education Program or show proof of exemption.

Finally, on a limited basis, we offer a free range Mouflon Sheep hunts as well as Vancouver Bull hunts.  We have an agreement with a private land owner that will allow very limited hunting.  These hunts are expensive and very rare.  For serious inquiries, please call us or email us for details.

HAWAIIAN FERAL SHEEP:

Our main species of game is the Hawaiian Feral Sheep.  This particular sheep have adapted very well to the rugged terrain and dry upland conditions they inhabit.  These sheep were brought in as a gift to the Hawaiian Kingdom by an explorer named Captain George Vancouver, back in the late 1700's.  The sheep can be found in thick brush to open lava fields to open grassy areas depending on weather conditions and certain times of the year.  The color of these sheep, as well as their horns, will vary.  Rams, as all wild game, will go in the thickest cover when not in the rut.  Even during the rut, your chances of harvesting a nice ram will depend on how much effort you put into the hunt.

We hunt these sheep by spot and stalk.  Stocking these animals over sharp and jagged lava makes it a stock most have never experienced before.  Our goal is to always have quality rams and the only way to do that is with proper management.  For this reason, we do not allow a hunter to shoot just any ram of his choice.  We like to harvest rams with a minimum horn length of 26".  Rams may reach horn lengths over 35" and if I was to compare that to a Dall Ram, that would be a 42" ram.

Each hunter is allowed to harvest one animal.

HAWAIIAN FERAL GOATS:

Hawaiian Feral Goat hunts take place in very rough terrain.  Like the sheep, they are on a spot and stalk basis.  The goats will usually inhabit more open terrain that is made up of the very brittle and jagged lava.  These goats can stand out in the middle of the lava fields all day long.  Besides the fact of making it harder to stock them, it will wear anyone out spending hours in this type of lava.  This hunt is not recommended for people who cannot handle the heat these lava fields radiate.

The elevations that these goats inhabit can be over 8,000' and making a well thought stock the key to hunting these goats.  Hawaiian Feral Goats travel quite a bit in there daily routine and getting to them in the early morning hours while its still cool for the hunter.  It is possible to harvest a billy with a bow, but your chances of getting within 30 yards is quite the challenge in this open terrain.

HAWAIIAN WILD BOAR:

If you'd like to receive an adrenalin rush, you should try our Hawaiian Wild Boar hunts.  These hunts are conducted in the lower elevations of the forest areas.  We usually use dogs to track and keep these fierce fighters keep at bay.

You will definitely neat to be in excellent condition to keep up with the action that goes along with this kind of hunt.  When dogs locate a boar, they will try their very best to keep that boar occupied until the hunter arrives.  The boars can range from black to white and just about every color in between.

Since these dogs track the aggressive boars there is no way for us to guarantee that a boar will be at the end of your chase.  Again, these are free ranging animals and we have no way to determine how your hunt will end.  If it is a harvestable boar, we allow the hunter to either shoot the boar or take it down with a knife.

Hawaiian Wild Boars can range well over 200 pounds and will make you understand how they are considered dangerous game pound for pound.  If you seek a real challenge in your hunting adventure, this will definitely give you your wish!

Hawaiian Wild Boar w/dog (Up to 3 Hunters)...........................................................$ 900.00

Additional Hunters.................................................................................per person $ 200.00
